A culture of possibility

We’ve done a lot of navel gazing over the past six months preparing to reintroduce Wingnut Advertising to the world. We batted around drafts of our vision and brand position like ping pong balls in an Olympics gold medal match. We slogged through the same hard yards we run for our clients. It was tireless, grueling work, like a dentist removing his own tooth. But very, very necessary.

And now, we have finally arrived at language and ideas that we know are right. Down in our guts, we know we nailed our brand spot on. We know it because it makes logical sense for us. Even more important, it feels right.

The Wingnut brand is pure possibility.

Clients don’t come to Wingnut because they want to do the same next year as they did last year. They are up to big things. They come for what hasn’t been conceived yet. They come to actually be a part of this creative process.

The industry’s best thinkers don’t come work at Wingnut to do what they did in the past. They come for what’s next in their careers. They come to create what has never been done before. They create a new future for our company, and our world around us.

A powerful brand must do more than just create and push their message outward. To succeed, a brand must own it, believe in it and live it. I now see this happening at Wingnut constantly. Just in the past month, I’ve seen two employees, during their first week take a new project and turn that client into a repeat customer. I’ve seen a brilliant concept that help will help improve democracy in Minnesota. I’ve seen multiple examples of the best client/agency relationships I could only have dreamed of elsewhere. I’ve seen strategy sessions that rival creative brainstorming. And I’ve seen brilliant ideas thrown to the floor because something even better was waiting.

I’ve seen possibility. I’m lucky enough to work there every day.
